Product Description
This campaign aims to raise awareness of the situation of students in remote areas of the provinces during rainy season and raise funds for 235 of the countless students all over the Philippine that share the same plight. This campaign aims to provide one raincoat for every shirt sold to students of Ecogan Elementary School.
The school is located in Sitio Ecogan, the most remote part of Barangay Minapasuk, one of the most rural areas in the Municipality of Calatrava. It is also recognized as the farthest among the schools of District of Calatrava-II. The school doesn’t have electrical connection, no potable water supply and at this point not securely enclosed with fences. There is currently no mode of transportation that can withstand the unpaved and undeveloped road. The school can only be reached by its teachers by hiking two (2) kilometers everyday, passing multiple rivers in the process. The same is true for the students that attend school everyday. These children have to walk several kilometers every day passing through multiple rivers and creeks. Some of them walk barefoot, oftentimes with an empty stomach. During rainy season, a lot of kids miss their classes due to sickness from getting exposed to harsh weather conditions brought about by the rain as most of these kids do not have any tools to protect them from the rain when traveling.
This campaign is raised to provide each students a durable raincoat that could make their travels a little bit easier. Any proceeds raised beyond the raincoat requirement will be used for the feeding program. If you are interested to do more beyond supporting this campaign, please contact causes@teetalk.ph so you can be connected to the school’s Head Teacher, Ms.. Elizabeth Joy Deguiit.
