As we celebrate our 5th anniversary this month, we seek for your help to continue our mission as our response to poverty – filling in the gap by opening opportunities for underprivileged children to know themselves more and see their potential for significance in areas of their interest and need through after school programs. We offer this limited design tee for you to grab!
This tee with doodle art design was created by an artist and Right Start volunteer teacher Janise Typoco. We liked it so much, we thought it would be a great shirt!
Right Start began as a response to a need that never ceases to make the heart of its founder’s bleed – the unmet needs of children living in poverty.
Needy families already find it hard to sustain basic day-to-day needs such as food, water and shelter. Sending their kids to afterschool activities (such as arts, sports, academic, personality, reading and life skills training) are not on their list. How do we bridge the gap to this unfair disadvantage?
Our afterschool program shares in this responsibility to fill in the gap by opening opportunities for children to know themselves more and see their potential for significance in areas of their interest and need. They learn to relate to people of various ages and backgrounds. When children come to our center we present to them a program that makes them come alive after a tiring day at school or out of school and hopefully they realize there is more in their childhood that needs to be celebrated, validated and most of all protected.
This campaign aims to provide our organization more funds to pursue our mission. Featuring bright and happy yellows and blues, this design reflects the talents we like to bring out in the kids we help!
